 Knowledge is ending its 15-year run in print when it moves to the web in July.
We've been busy building our new website for some months now and we were initially planning to run it alongside the magazine but the further down the road we've gone with the site, the more potential we have seen for the magazine online. There is so much more we can do and it makes the paper version seem so dated, so we have decided to move the magazine over to the web when the site is ready on July 1st.
We will have regularly updated features / interviews and news like we currently have in the magazine but also extensive blogs written by our current team of journalists. We aim to have a wide range of blogs - each of the main genres we cover (drum & bass, dubstep, hip hop, electronica and breakbeat) will have their own individual blogs as will non-music topics like music technology, gadgets & games, fashion and art. There will be regular video features and interviews too.
Our extensive back issues will be available to view as digital publications and old cover CD's will also be available to download. Our popular cover CDs will continue but as podcasts. Users will be able to comment and rate as much of the site as possible. Users just need to become a member to contribute and membership is free as is all the content.
The final paper issue of Knowledge will be published on June 12th and it's going to be a special collector's issue celebrating our past and looking forward to the future. We're going to make it extra special, a bit like we did with our 100th issue last year and our tenth anniversary edition. There won't be any news, reviews or listings, just lots of special features.
Copy deadline for adverts for this last issue is May 29th. Street date is June 12th.
