knfeatSo here it is, after 109 issues and nearly 15 years the last ever issue of Knowledge. But this isn’t the last you’ve seen of us of course, we’re just moving online. So what's in store for our final ever issue? Well, we've tried to make it special so there are none of our usual regulars like news and reviews, it's just cover to cover features...

kmaglastCOVER STAR: SUB FOCUS

FEATURES
LTJ BUKEM: With a FABRICLIVE mix CD ready to drop and Good Looking back in business, LTJ Bukem is busier than ever. It’s more a case of full circle than logical progression as Kmag discovers when we spoke to him recently, while he also talks us through a selection of his favourite music and some pivotal moments in his life.
HYPE: If there's anyone in drum & bass who is qualified to comment on the evolution of the scene over the past 20 years then it's DJ Hype. For a special feature to commemorate our last-ever issue, Knowledge caught up with the man behind Ganja Records to pick out some of the most important moments of his illustrious career.
TELLING TALES: In 2004 we had the pleasure to republish a book on drum & bass called All Crews by Brian Belle Fortune. It proved to be a great success and Brian has remained a close friend ever since. So for our last ever issue we just had to get Brian to write us a few words.
THE BIG BANG THEORY: Ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes of the UK’s biggest events? Ever wanted to know what ingredients are essential to bake the perfect party pie? Well now you can ease your minds, as we caught up with Kath Pyer and James Busby, the guys behind one of the UK’s most notorious and fastest growing events, Detonate, at their Indoor Festival in Nottingham, to get a real insight to what is required to really make it happen…
DRUM AND BASS IN THE GREAT OUTDOORS: Drum & bass isn’t just for clubs. In fact, the music was born outdoors, in the massive illegal raves that flourished across the UK in the early 90s. In recent years, the legal festival scene has caught on to the idea of presenting drum & bass in huge outdoor arenas. We went to investigate.
TECHNOLOGIC: We’ve interviewed and seen the recording studios of all the drum & bass guys throughout our printed history: Goldie, Andy C, Dillinja, DJ Fresh, Sub Focus, London Electricity, Total Science, Shy FX and Commix. It’s fair to say we can tell you a lot about the technology that is behind the biggest drum & bass hits ever made...
LYRICS ON OUR LIPS: May. Gateway to the summer. Month of double bank holidays, barbecues, sun and traditionally… song competitions. No we're not talking about Eurovision, but rather that other prestigious, and infinitely more credible prize for songwriters – the Ivor Novello awards. In honour of these honours we're hosting our own unofficial recognition of songwriting in drum & bass.
