OffKey Podcast Vol 4 - Proket
To round up 2007 we bring you the 4th Offkey Podcast by our very own boy wonder: Proket.
Proket's production style is a truly original take on drum and bass, and his status is growing steadily.
The idea behind this mix was to bring together the best that 2007 had to offer in terms of the techno
dnb sound while remembering some of the classic tracks that influenced today's pioneers as well as
a taste of whats to come in the coming year.
Tracks such as Offkey's first release 'Machinesoul' by Raiden and Propaganda, sit alongside the
timeless classic 'Messiah' by Konflict. The work of artists such as Kemal and Rob Data and Stakka
and Skynet have had such a noticeable influence on the Offkey sound that it felt right to include some
of their tracks on this podcast.
2007 has been an important year for the Offkey sound, building on the
original concept of Raiden, Propaganda with new ideas from Lethal and Khanage, storming EPs that
announced the true arrival of The Sect and Proket and a slightly melodic take on the sound from
Temper D. 2008 is now a time to think ahead to what is planned, and this podcast gives you a sneak
peak at what's to come. Very exciting ideas have been thrown around by Techno legend Dean Rodell,
and The Dying Punks project with Raiden is sure to blow the mediocre into oblivion. We can look
forward to Raiden's long awaited Chernobyl LP, where we will no doubt hear his true artistic vision
come to the fold without the limitations of the dancefloor. The multi artist Offkey Firm LP is on its way,
and although most of the tracks are being kept locked away until release, its only because we want
it to be the real genre defining album it deserves to be, and judging from what has been decided on so
far, this is going to be worth the wait.
One thing is for sure, Offkey Recordings has landed, is gathering momentum, and is here to stay.
So get ready for the Russian prodigy to represent with the fourth Offkey podcast.

OffKey Podcast 003 - Temper D
Up next on the Offkey Podcast we have our resident mixing machine Temper D.
Currently half way through his first tours of South Africa, New Zealand and Australia, Dave is best known for his creative mixing style incorporating the whole spectrum of drum and bass. This is also backed up with a discography of releases right back to 2002 on labels such as Concord Dawn's Uprising, Gain, and Renegade Hardware, again representing the diversity of the sounds that make him tick.
His production potential was spotted by Raiden early on in his career and has been nurtured to produce a recent string of techno influenced releases on Offkey, Offkey Limited and Subsistenz, with the more standard dancefloor material reserved for his own new label TDP.
With many recorded live sets and studio sessions from Temper D already available on the internet, it was decided that this podcast would not be just another 3 deck drum and bass rinse-out. Digging through the crates, Dave has come with a mix covering all forms of electronic music which have influenced him over his career, progressing from minimal techno, hardcore, early Detroit classics, electro breaks, to dubstep, right through to brand new drum and bass dubplates including his debut collaboration with Raiden.
This is a mix to listen to in the car, at home, chilling with mates or any time you need a break from the incessant sound of drum and bass. Firmly set against the narrow mindedness and one dimensional nature of too many of today's DJ's,
Temper D attempts here to sum up some of the diversity that electronic music has had to offer over the years. Enjoy!!!

OffKey Podcast 001 - Raiden
Raiden's fusion of techno and drum and bass has been an inspiration to many producers for years and is one of the most exciting pioneers/representatives of the techno drum and bass movement. Raiden is now ready to unleash his long waited live set across the Globe for the first time.
Over the last year Raiden has been pushing his 3 decks lock groove sets so to futher this idea, Raiden has developed a live set which is somewhere in between Djing and a live P.A. Songs and loops are mashed together utilising Raiden's production talents in a live environment. Expect mind bending hypnotic loops, not limited by the generic tempo of dnb, and live remixing of old and brand new material from the whole genre of electronic music in a DnB format.
This OffKey Podcast gives you a small preview of his live set and some of his latest productions.
